North of Coors Field, developers have created a new area, featuring some preserved buildings that have become rave-style bars and dance venues, surrounded by new apartments and some condos/townhomes. “Ballpark,” as the area is called north of 23rd Street, features some of the most affordable newer rentals in downtown, and has much of the land that might become part of any future downtown expansion. Meanwhile, south of Highlands, neighborhoods near Sloan’s Lake are now seeing a wave of new townhome construction – ones that will offer prices well below what new single-family homes and townhomes around LoHi and Highlands are commanding.
